Audrey Mae Cannon

November 7, 1944 - August 19, 2025

Audrey Mae Cannon was born on November 7, 1944, in New Orleans, Louisiana, to the late Rev. Ernest Williams, Sr. and Dorothy Williams. On Thursday, August 19, 2025, in God's infinite wisdom, He called her home, and she peacefully transitioned from labor to reward.

At an early age, Audrey accepted Christ and was baptized at Antioch Baptist Church in Des Allemands, Louisiana. Later in life, she became a devoted member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Hahnville, Louisiana.

Audrey was united in holy matrimony to the love of her life, the late Saviour H. Cannon, with whom she shared 57 blessed years of marriage. From this union, three children were born: the late Kelly Cannon-Burrell, Dr. Dean Cannon, and LaToya Cannon-Dansby.

Educated in the St. Charles Parish Public School System, Audrey went on to attend Stevenson Beauty College, becoming a professional cosmetologist for over two decades. She later served as a dedicated bus driver for the St. Charles Parish School System until her retirement. Audrey was also gifted with remarkable sewing skills and was known as an excellent seamstress.

Audrey's legacy of love lives on through her devoted children, LaToya Cannon-Dansby and Dr. Dean Cannon (Tamara) of Texas; five grandchildren: Sydni Dansby, Karraz (KJ) Dansby, Corban Burrell, McKenzie Cannon, and Micah Cannon; and her sons-in-law, Alton Burrell and Karraz Dansby. She is also survived by seven sisters: Lillie Paul, Betty Murray, Bernice White (Charles), Lorraine Temple (Charles Jr.), Mary Lee White (Bruce Sr.), Janice Williams (Solomon), and Wendy Williams; one brother: Michael Williams (Patricia); two sisters-in-law: Barbara Francis and Catherine Pierre; two brothers-in-law: Michael Cannon (Dionne) and Minnon Cannon (Helen); three goddaughters: Tania Joseph, Vonda Darensbourg, and Reshan Ivory; her best friend, Annie Francios; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will forever cherish her memory.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Saviour H. Cannon; her parents, Rev. Ernest Williams, Sr. and Dorothy Williams; her daughter, Kelly Cannon-Burrell; two brothers, Raymond Williams and Ernest Williams, Jr.; her father- and mother-in-law, Savior and Eva Cannon; and four sisters-in-law: Velma Gullage, Fern Gullage, Eva Singleton, and Jane Johnson.
