Audrey Jane Gorham was born on April 7,1944 in Dow City, Iowa to Lowell Herbert and Wilma Jane (TenEyck) Kline. She grew up in Dunlap, attended Crystal Hill Country School, and graduated from Dunlap High School in 1963. Audrey then moved to Denver, Colorado where she worked at 1st National Bank. She was united in marriage to Gary Gorham on October 17, 1964 at the St. John Lutheran Church in Dunlap. The couple moved to a dairy farm in Bertha, Minnesota where she and Gary helped raise her younger siblings while they visited in the summers. After five years, they relocated back to the Dunlap area and continued farming. Audrey and Gary were blessed with two children, Denise and Chad. In 1983, Audrey went to work at Lehan Family Pharmacy and later in the 1990s, she had a lunch wagon servicing local farm sales. Finally, her working career ended at Boyer Valley North as a lunch lady.
Audrey was a member of the St. John Lutheran Church where she was a reader; helped with Bible school and Sunday school; and was a member of WLCA, church council, and Alter Society. Audrey loved working in the fields with Gary, raising Angus cattle, cooking, quilting, fishing, horseback riding, and taking care of her yard. They loved camping and would spend the whole week camping at the Iowa State Fair each year where she became a fair volunteer, a job that she passed on to her family. Audrey and Gary cherished their 40th anniversary, which was spent in Hawaii and their 50th anniversary, which was spent on an Alaskan cruise. Most of all, Audrey loved her family, and one of her favorite traditions was playing Thanksgiving bingo with the grandchildren.
Audrey died on Friday, November 7, 2025 at Azria Health Rose Vista in Woodbine, Iowa at the age of 81 years and seven months.
Audrey was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gary Gorham; daughter-in-law, Angie Gorham; and siblings, Peggy Block, Randy Shumate and LoAnna Meiers.
