Audrey Kolakowski Obituary
February 15 - September 11, 2025
Audrey Paradiso Kolakowski, "Mom", "Nona" and "Noni", age 90, of Ashlar Village, Wallingford, CT, died on Sept. 12, 2025.
Her legacy includes a career in education, wife of the late Henry S. Kolakowski Jr, Mother of 5 children, grandmother of 15 children and great-grandmother of 17 children. Audrey's life was filled with a love of faith, family, friends, and everything Italian especially good food and traditions served with love at countless family meals. She started work as a secretary and after her marriage to Henry continued to work as a stay-at-home Mom raising their 5 children. She returned to work outside the home in the Wallingford School System serving as a Paraprofessional at Highland and Moses Y. Beach Schools. She was loved by the many students and their families as well as the faculty with whom she served. Audrey moved to Masonicare's Ashlar Village after she retired and enjoyed a full and happy life there surrounded by friends, family and the dedicated staff and caregivers.
She was particularly proud of her large family and is survived by her children and their spouses, Michael and Eileen Kolakowski, Mark and Susan Kolakowski, Jo-Ann and Craig Edmondson, Elizabeth Kolakowski and Michael DiCarlo, and Mary Ann Kolakowski and her grandchildren, Megan and Rob Coro, Michael Jr. and Dana Kolakowski, Lisa and Vincent Buonocoro, Matthew and Brianna Kolakowski, Rachel and Tommy Artounian, Katie and Elliot Pressman, Sarah and Raymond Fortier, Collin Edmondson, Anthony and Erin Kolakowski, Austin Kolakowski and his betrothed Emily Santo, Alexandra Kolakowski and the late Adam Kolakowski, Zara DiCarlo and Klansee Stevens, Henry Kolakowski and Elizabeth Grace Paradiso Kolakowski, and great-grandchildren, Grayson and Braden Coro, Vinny, Tommy and Tony Buonocoro, Bridget Kolakowski and Michael Kolakowski III, Ella Rose and Olivia Kolakowski, her namesake Audrey Artounian and Cameron Artounian, Benjamin Pressman, Kylie Edmondson, Lydia and Amelia Fortier, Charlotte and Baby Girl Kolakowski and all of their loved pets who visited her in person or by phone. Audrey was also survived by her sister in-law Aurella Dean and many nieces and nephews.
Audrey was always aware of and grateful for the many blessings God bestowed upon her. Special thanks to Hospice and Masonic Homecare for the love and care that surrounded Audrey during her final months.
Audrey's family will receive relatives and friends in The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 N. Main St. Ext., on Wednesday, Sept. 17th from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 10 a.m., directly at Our Lady of Fatima Church, 382 Hope Hill Rd., in the Yalesville section of Wallingford. Interment will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Meriden. Gifts in her memory may be sent to the Henry S. Kolakowski Jr., Memorial Scholarship Fund, 9 Brockett Rd., Wallingford, CT 06492.

Audrey was a very unique and special person serving students with special needs during my tenure as Director of Pupil Personnel/Compensatory Services from 1983 thru 2008. having know Henry and her for decades including when Henry was guidance counselor at Platt High school in Meriden and then when he was Guidance Director at Sheehan High school and the Director of Pupil Personnel in the Wallingford Public Schools. She and her husband were both legends to the school districts they serve. Audrey was the most compassionate special education paraprofessional I had the fortunate opportunity to to be blessed to know. She and Henry are now reunited in heaven. May god bless both of them.
