Audrey Welty Reuter passed away peacefully on March 13, 2026, at age 98. She was the daughter of Paul M. Welty and Una Garic Welty, who predeceased her. She was also predeceased by her beloved husband, James V. Reuter, Jr., and her sister, Beverly Welty Sarrat. She is survived by her sons, James. V. Reuter, III (Jewel), Paul (Michelle), and Bryan (Donna), her grandchildren, Elise McMullen (Kyle), Claire Özoral (Cemal), Paul Reuter, Jr. (Alexandria), James Reuter, IV, Christopher Reuter (Eileen), Caroline Barry (Gregory), and Stephanie Brake (Simon), and her great grandchildren, Audrey, Clark, Lillian, and Juliette McMullen, Olivia Özoral, Liam, Parker, and Rhett Reuter, Wilfred, Nicholas, Patrick, Ruth, and Adelaide Reuter, Genevieve and Anthony Barry, and Isaac Brake.

She graduated from St. Joseph's Academy in New Orleans, Class of 1945, and organized the yearly class reunions.

Audrey was a parishioner of St Dominic Parish for many years and was a Eucharistic minister, a member of the Rosary Altar Society, and a member of the St. Dominic Dames. She was a founding member and actively involved in NAIM.

She later became a parishioner of St Angela Merici Parish where she attended daily Mass. For several years, she was on the Board of the One Metairie Place Condominium Association.

She was always humble, building up others without seeking personal attention or recognition. She enjoyed spending time with her family and with her condo friends at One Metairie Place. She particularly looked forward to her annual vacation to the Grand Hotel in Point Clear with her extended family.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation to St. Angela Merici Church or St. Dominic Church.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass at Jacob Schoen & Son Funeral Home, 3827 Canal Street, New Orleans, LA 70119, on Monday, March 23, 2026 at 12:30 pm with public visitation beginning at 10:00 am. Interment will follow the Mass and take place at Lake Lawn Park Cemetery and Mausoleum, 5454 Pontchartrain Blvd., New Orleans, LA 70124.
