Audrey L. Rex

Audrey L. Rex, 84, of Fremont, OH passed away at her home surrounded by her loving family on November 22, 2023.  Audrey was born on June 28, 1939, in Tiffin, OH to George E. and Bessie L. (Billman) McConnell.  She married Paul R. Rex on February 14, 1953 in Auburn, IN and he preceded her in death on September 19, 1997. 

 

Audrey was employed by St. Francis Rehabilitation Center as a certified nurse’s aide for 25 years until she retired in 1997.  She was a member of St. Paul’s Methodist Church and life member of VFW Auxiliary.  Audrey enjoyed baking and spending time with her family.

 

Audrey is survived by her children; Paula K. (Wendle) Gibson, Tiffin OH, Bonnie S. (Brad) Bogner, Port Clinton, OH, Cindy A. (Richard) Cook, Tiffin, OH, Susan A. Halbisen, Fremont, OH, Terry L. Rex, Fremont, OH, Paul E. (Sharlene) Rex, Clyde, OH, Tina L. (Tom) Chong, Clyde, OH, Jody L. Zavala, Sarasota, FL and Eugene M. (Jeannine) Rex, Fremont, OH, grandchildren, Tiffany, Ryan, Stephanie, Sara, Eric, Angie, Brian, Cory, Emily, Chelsea, Bryce, Megan, Tyler, Tyson, Douglas, Richard, Wendle, Michael, Audrey, Paul, Joshua, Paul, Jr. and Jessica; fifty-four great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren.

 

Audrey is preceded in death by her parents and husband, Paul R. Rex; sister; Patricia L. Kaiser; grandsons, Jamie and James.

 

Visitation will take place on Sunday November 26, 2023 from 12 noon to 6:00 pm at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory. Services will be Monday November 27, 2023 at 10:00 am at the funeral Home.

 

Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.

 

Memorials may be made to the family.
