Audrey E. Sandusky, 83, of McKeesport passed away Monday, November 4, 2024. She was born in McKeesport on December 31, 1940 and was the daughter to the late Thomas G. and Harriet E. (Muslin) Smith. Audrey was born and raised in McKeesport and was a long time member of the American Legion Post #701, where she was a post president of the Ladies Auxiliary, as well as part of the Band Parents Association at McKeesport High School. Audrey also worked many years for Riverside Care Center as a housekeeper. She loved crocheting, cooking, and baking - but most importantly, she enjoyed her time spent with her grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was a loving wife, and a devoted mother and grandmother. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Emil M. Sandusky, Jr.; sons, Emil (Tina) Sandusky, III. of North Versailles, and Kirk Sandusky of McKeesport; daughter, Melissa (Jeff) Fawcett of McKeesport; grandchildren, Justin (Van) Fawcett, Brandon (Becca) Sandusky, Melanie (Corey) Brown, Corey Sandusky, Kirk Sandusky, Jr., and Kody Sandusky; great-grandchildren, Ayvah, and Levi Brown; her sister, Harriet Bosnyak, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Audrey is preceded in death by her son, Mark Sandusky; a daughter, Emily Sandusky; as well as her siblings, Geraldine "Peanut" Storch, Rachel Gostkowski, and George Smith. Friends are welcome Thursday, November 7, 2024 from 2-4 & 6-8pm at the Gilbert Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 1638 Lincoln Way, White Oak, PA 15131 (412) 672-6322 Troy J. Gilbert, director. Funeral Mass will be held Friday, November 8, 2024 at 9:30am at the Mary, Mother of God Parish - St. Angela Merici Church (EVERYONE PLEASE MEET AT THE CHURCH). Interment will follow at the New St. Joseph Cemetery - North Versailles. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to the Dementia Society of America at https://www.dementiasociety.org/donate.
