Audria Mae Adams, a beloved wife, mother, sister, and friend, passed away on October 1, 2025, in Kingwood, Texas, at the age of 86. Born on January 28, 1939, in New Willard, Texas, Audria was a guiding light for her family and a faithful servant of the Lord throughout her life.

Audria dedicated herself to both her family and her community. As a co-owner and operator of the A and J Resale Shop in Cleveland, Texas, she created a warm and welcoming environment that became a cornerstone of the local economy. Audria also worked in home healthcare until she fully retired. Beyond her professional endeavors, Audria was passionate about education, being a proud graduate of Cleveland Colored School, Class of 1957. Her time there was enriched by participating in basketball and she also showcased her leadership skills.

Her commitment to service extended beyond her community business as she also served her country with honor as a retired Marine Veteran holding the rank of Msgt. E-8. This role exemplified her dedication and resilience, qualities she exhibited throughout her life.

Audria's hobbies included cosmetology, reflecting her vibrant personality and her love for connecting with others. She truly cherished her family and friends, who were central to her being, and her heart was always open to those around her.

She is survived by her loving husband, E.J. Adams Jr., with whom she shared 30 years of marriage, and her children, Angela Bryant and husband Oliver, Alicia Saunders Alas and husband Zia Taskin Alas. Audria is also survived by her siblings: James Clay and wife Flora, Eddie Clay and wife Linda, Barbara Clay, Arthur Clay and wife Marilyn, and Curtis Clay, her brother-in-law Riliegh “Mickey” Beasley, her sister-in-law Helen Adams Pariss and brother-in-law Robert Adams, who will continue to honor her legacy.

Audria was predeceased by her father, D.J. Smith; her stepfather, Augusta "Jim" Clay; her mother, Catherine Clay; her brother, Charles Clay; her sister, Mary Clay Beasley; as well as her aunts and uncles, Louisa and Roy Jackson, Daniel and Oligie Jackson and her nieces Tonya Lindsey and Tamesha Clay, and her sisters-in-law Shirley Adams Robinson and Joyce Adams Williams.

Audria Mae Adams will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to know her. Her faith, love, and legacy will live on in the hearts of her family and friends forever.

A visitation for Audria will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2025 at New Bethel Baptist Church, 1002 Church Ave. Cleveland, Texas 77327 from 10:00 am until 11:00 am, followed by her Funeral Service there at 11:00 am. Audria's Military Honors and interment will take place on Tuesday, October 14, 2025 at 11:15 am at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Dr. Houston, Texas 77038
