Aurelio B. Caneta

Aurelio B Caneta, age 90, passed away peacefully on March 16, 2026. Born on October 15, 1935, Aurelio lived a long and meaningful life marked by dedication to his family, quiet strength, and a joy for dancing with his wife of 50 years, Diane, who preceded him in death in 2008.

Leo was known for his kindness, sense of gratitude toward others, and unwavering sense of responsibility. Throughout his life, he worked diligently and carried himself with integrity, earning the respect of all who knew him. He was the owner of Western Landscape, providing landscaping services to residences and businesses throughout Bakersfield and the Kern County region. Additionally, Leo was one of the proud founding members of the Filipino-American Society in the city, creating a close network of friendships through shared culture.

He is survived by his: children - Eileen Caneta, Grace Johnson (Craig), Jerry Caneta (Mary), and Jeff Caneta (Shelly); grandchildren – Marisa, Ryan, Zane, Jorie, Cameron, Mandy, and Lexi; great grandchildren – Isla, Amelia, Kashmen, George and Everrett.

Leo will be remembered for his warm spirit, gentle humor, and the steady presence he provided to those around him. Aurelio's legacy lives on in the lives he touched, the values he instilled, and the memories cherished by his family and friends.
