Ausencia Maria Davila

Ausencia Maria M. Davila was joyfully received Heaven on Sunday September 28, 2025. She was born on December 18, 1939, in Orange Grove, Texas, to José and Carlotta S. Martinez, and was lovingly known by all as "Chencha."

At the heart of Ausencia's life was her family-nurtured with care and guided by faith. She found her greatest joy in the comfort of home, where her door and her heart were always open to loved ones and new friends. Rooted in compassion, she was a source of wisdom and encouragement, always ready with kind words and thoughtful advice. She delighted in the simple pleasures-watching her beloved novelas, sitting outside to admire the birds and playful squirrels, and finding happiness in music and dance. Above all, she cherished every moment spent surrounded by her family.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Ernesto G. Davila; her parents, José and Carlotta S. Martinez; her children, Richard and Diane Barrientes; and her granddaughter, Yvette Michelle Galvan. She is also reunited with her siblings Marcos Martinez, Jose Martinez Jr., Fidela Salomon, Filomena Perez, Guadalupe Garcia, Blasa Trissel and Rosita Luis.

Cherishing her memory are her children Mary Jane (Ramiro) Reyna, Ernest (Gracie) Davila, Nora D. Martinez, Mario (Hope) Davila, and Denise (John) Morales. She is also lovingly remembered by her sister, Vicky Segura and her brother, Frank Martinez. Her beautiful legacy continues in the lives of her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and godchildren-each of whom carries a piece of her spirit in their hearts.
