Austin Fortner Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Dahlonega Funeral Home on Mar. 22, 2025.
Austin Lane Fortner was born on August 27, 1997. He returned to the Lord on March 20th, 2025.
Austin was an avid outdoorsman who cherished nature and adventure. You could often find him fishing a river or rock climbing. He loved the North Georgia Mountains and equally felt at home in the high desert. As a child, he was an avid hockey player.
Austin was the most loveable human you could know (and gave the best hugs). His heart was big and he cherished his friends and family. His sense of humor was unique and endearing. Austin had a bold love for music and was a talented artist.
Those who knew and loved Austin will forever feel a deep void and will cherish the love, humor, and memories he left behind.
Austin is survived by his spouse Taylor Fortner and her three children (Maddie, Justice, and Tommy), daughter Everly Garcia. His momma Robin Reynolds, his dad Craig Fortner and his siblings that he loved dearly; CJ Fortner, Hali Fortner, Sydney Fortner, Andy Abernathy, and Mary Ella Abernathy; grandparents Randall & Carolyn Martin, Ken and Sharon Fortner, precious nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles and family also survive.
Family will receive friends on Sunday March 23rd, 2025 from 2-4pm with a Celebration of his Life to follow at 4:00pm at Dahlonega Funeral Home.
Charitable donations may be made in Austin's memory to: A Better Way Ministries, 800 Stallings Road, Senoia, Georgia 30276.
Nothing would honor Austin's journey more than to offer those still suffering from addiction a hope for recovery.
The family extends a sincere appreciation for all the love and support though this difficult time.
