Austin Blake Gentry

Austin, age 26, passed away on Saturday, March 28, 2026. He was a resident of Independence, LA. Austin found his greatest joy in the simple moments of life. He had a deep love for fishing, a passion for anything with a motor, and an adventurous spirit that carried him wherever the road or water would take him. Above all, he adored his children. They were his pride and joy, the center of his world, and the reason behind his biggest smiles. Austin also held a deep devotion to his family, cherishing every moment spent together and never taking those connections for granted. Known for his fun-loving nature and vibrant personality, Austin had a way of bringing light into any room. He was full of life, quick to laugh, and always ready to make others smile. Beneath his playful spirit was a truly kind heart, one that cared deeply for others and left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him.

He is survived by his wife, Julia Kee; children, Brynlee Gentry, Cameron Gentry, Aubrey Gentry; mother, April Gentry (Cheyne Martin); father, Donnie Gentry; siblings, Chantel Courtney (Logan), Destin Gentry (Bella), Trenton Martin (Alli), Catelynn Gentry, Skylar York (Kenny); grandparents, Danny and Debbie McKnight, Debra Gentry; niece, Maleah Courtney; nephew, Lawton Courtney; aunts and uncles, Shawna Randazzo, Rodney and Tanya McKnight, Danny Gentry Jr., Deanna Nolen; and cousins, Jayden Randazzo, Gavin Randazzo, Brailyn Randazzo, Krystal Ray, Laycee King, Kayla Gentry, Cody Gentry, Kinley McKnight, Ethan McKnight, Devin McKnight, Christopher Nolen, Taylor Nolen, and Jordan Nolen.

Austin is preceded in death by his grandfather, Danny Gentry; and step-mother, Summer Bertram.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at Brandon G. Thompson Funeral Home at 12012 Hwy 190 W. Hammond, LA 70401 on Thursday, April 2, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. until the memorial service at 12:00 p.m.
