With profound sadness our family announces the passing of our beloved Ava. Born August 21, 1959, only 66 years old, Ava joined our Lord on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, after a short struggle with cancer.
Ava's life began in
Metairie, Louisiana to William E Parker and Barbara Ann Parker as well as sisters Paula and Melanie. She gained her love to travel, moving often with her dad's career. She lived in Louisiana, California, Texas, and London, England, where Ava made lifelong friends. Ava's favorite US destinations were Savannah, Georgia (even naming her favorite dog Vanna), and Fredericksburg, Texas. We all enjoyed shopping in the hill country.
Cooking became an early interest of Ava's after receiving an Imperial Sugar Children's Cookbook. She first baked the "Quickie Cake," which took three hours. She swiftly graduated to bake three-layer coconut cakes and festive seasonal dishes of many culinary types. Ava was a master at decorating the house for every holiday. Ava's dogs had selected holiday attire. Crocheting, knitting, needlepointing and scrapbooking are other hobbies Ava enjoyed, but not as passionate as her love of country western music.
For thirteen happy years Ava worked for Taylor Morrison Homebuilders, building many close friendships. She was known as "Mother Goose" by her family team. No one could have loved their job as much as Ava.
Never married, Ava cherished her family and would do anything for us all! She was devoted to caring for Dad when he was ill and continued the same exceptional loving care of our dear Mom.
Ava is survived by her mother, Barbara M. Parker, sister Paula Stevens and brother-in-law John Stevens, sister Melanie Sheffield, nephew Brian Ferebee and family, niece Traci Becerra and family, niece Brittney Aparicio and husband, and extended family.
Although Ava is gone, she will live in our hearts forever!
A Celebration of Life will be on Monday, March 2, 11:00 am at Champion Forest Baptist Church Chapel.
