Henry Drastata Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Klein Funeral Home - CyFair - Northwest on Feb. 25, 2026.
Henry Drastata

Born February 4, 1937 in New Taiton, Tx

Died February 17, 2026

Henry Silivian Drastata was born on February 4, 1937, the 12th of 13 siblings, to Charles and Rosia Drastata in New Taiton, Texas. He died and went to his Lord and Savior on February 17, 2026 in Cypress, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents and 11 of his siblings, eight sisters and 3 brothers, and many nieces and nephews. He is survived by the love of his life and wife of 65 years, Marianne, son Donald Drastata, daughter Diane Drastata Hutto, granddaughters Kristina Hutto Barker (Garrett), Anastasia Hutto, and great granddaughter Evangeline Barker. He loved his granddaughters dearly and spent much time with them when he retired. He especially enjoyed taking them to the beach on vacation and watching them fish and Anastasia throw her cast net. He is also survived by his brother, Jerome Drastata (Barbara), Sister in Law Deanna Byerly (John) Brother in Law Otis Foster (Sally), and over 80 nieces and nephews.

He started his business career working as a manufacturing engineer for Reed Rock Bit and within two years moved in to management after Reed was purchased by Baker Oil Tools. He was involved in laying out new plants and specifying the necessary equipment required. During this time he had an opportunity to travel all over the world including India, Singapore, Venezuela, Japan, Scotland, Italy, England, Germany, Switzerland, and others. After their children were in college Marianne was able to join him on many of these trips. Professionally he served as the chairman of the Houston chapter of the Manufacturing engineers as well as the Texas zone and southeast region.

In 1993 he and four other managers purchased the cementing tools and premium threading line from Baker and started a new company called Enerpro. During this time he served as Vice President of Manufacturing running the Houston, Mexico City, Scotland and Canada plants. After six years when the new company was successfully running they sold it to Weatherford International who later made it part of Grant Prideco. During this time he served as the General Manager for five plants that did the premium threading of casing. In 2004 at the age of 68 he decided to retire

and he and Marianne did lots of traveling both domestic and internationally. Of course he had more time for his family now and spent lots of time with his granddaughters that he adored. Since they lived close to him he spent lots of time with them, helping them with school work, watching them play basketball and horseback riding competitions, and of course teaching them to drive.

He is an active member of Prince of Peace Catholic community and a 4th degree Knight of Columbus. He served his council as financial secretary, Grand Knight, and trustee for many years.

Thank you to Henry's caregivers: Charlotte, Nita, Kat, Chris, and Nova
