Avery Alonzo "Sonny" Bradley Jr.

Avery "Sonny" Alonzo Bradley Jr., a beloved husband, father, and dedicated golfer, passed away on November 3, 2025, at the age of 82. Born on April 9, 1943, in Jackson County, North Carolina, Avery lived a life full of passion and joy, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Growing up, Sonny discovered his love for racing and spent many thrilling afternoons on the track. As life moved on, he found joy in golfing, where he created countless memories on the greens. Sonny dedicated his professional life to the automotive industry, working as a mechanic and building a reputation for his hard work and reliability.
Above all, Sonny cherished his family. He is survived by his loving wife, Shirley Bradley; daughter, Tonya Bradley and Melissa Middleton (Mike); son, Joey Short (Jada), Tony Short, Daryl Bradley (Amanda); grandchildren, Camron, Cody, Justin, Tyler, Garin, Ashton, Brittany, Payton; great grandchildren, Asher, Rowyn, Harper, Paxton; brother, Jim Bradley. The warmth of their love will forever remain in their hearts and memories.
Sonny was preceded in death by his parents, Avery and Beatrice Bradley; brothers, Edward Bradley, William Bradley; sister, Betty Ann Bradley.
Sonny's family will hold private services to honor his life, and a celebration of his legacy.
Rest in peace, Sonny. Your spirit will live on in the hearts of everyone you touched.
