Avery Rogers Obituary

Avery Donald Rogers

Born: Sep 13, 1950 | Died: Jan 4, 2026

Avery Donald Rogers, age 75, passed away on January 4, 2026. A man of dedication, drive, and loyalty. Mr. Rogers leaves behind a legacy of service to his country and family.

A veteran of the Vietnam War, Avery served with honor in the United States Army. Following his military service, he continued his commitment to public welfare as Labor Foreman with the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA), from which he retired in 2007, proprietor of Rogers Landscaping, and as a member of the Greenback Rescue Squad. However, his favorite occupation was tending his farm in Greenback .

Avery is survived by his wife Diane Rogers, daughter and son-in-law Kim and Wes Williams, sons Brian Stansberry and Ben Stansberry, beloved grandson Lucas Williams, niece Marlene Phelps, nephew Lee Rowland, and many cousins. He was preceded in death by parents Raymond and Nannie Rogers, brothers Gary and Ray, sister Brenda Rowland, brother-in-law Tommy Rowland, and niece Darlene Kirk.

Avery will be remembered by friends and colleagues as an individual of resolve and determination, though always possessing a good sense of humor and readiness to lend a hand. In lieu of flowers his family requests donations be made to Lost Vets Rescue in Greenback or Shades of Grace UMC in Kingsport.

Avery's life was celebrated with full military honors at a graveside service at Louisville Cemetery. Condolences may be shared at Smith Funeral and Cremation Service, Maryville, 865-983-1000, www.SmithFuneralandCremation.com.
