Axel 'Pete' Low, 41, of Mosinee, passed away on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, in Mosinee.

Axel was born on August 7, 1984, in Clintonville. The son of Herb Erickson and Lynne Low. Axel was a graduate from Tigerton High School. After high school he went to Antigo Tech to achieve his welding degree.

Axel worked as a certified welder at Woods for many years, and most recently at Imperial Industries. He loved spending time with his pride, the love of his life, his son, Kane Low. Axel cherished time spent with his family and was best man in his mom and Donald's wedding, who he called dad. Axel enjoyed cheering on the Dallas Cowboys, being a fan since 6th grade. Axel was at home in nature - whether ice fishing on a frozen lake, bow hunting or turkey hunting in the quiet woods, or on the water in his kayak. Axel loved to grill up a meal any chance he could. He enjoyed shooting pool and buying lottery tickets. Axel always said, "the only way to get rich, win the lottery." Anyone who knew Axel said that he filled the room with love. If you needed a hug, kiss, a talk, a ride or a beer, Axel was there for you and will be missed by many.

Axel is survived by his mom and dad, Lynne and Donald Schmid of Tigerton; son, Kane Low; grandma, Gloria Hass; sisters and brothers, Wanda Tucker of Marion, Tammy (Dave) Vandracek of Tigerton, Eric Erickson of Milwaukee, Leif (Bonnie) Erickson of Shawano, Vicki (Greg) Strebig of Wausau, Amber (Chris) Nutter of Tennessee, Bradley Schmid of Hanford, CA, Rebecca (Brad) Schmid of Plover, and Jacob (Becca) Schmid of Chesapeake, VA; Aunts and Uncles, Lance (Katrina) Low, Loretta (Steve) Olson, Luann (Jerry) Harris, LaRae (Daniel) Bork, Todd (Michelle) Schmid, Robin Schmid, Ronald Schmid, Debe (Will) Dutton, Jim (Janice) Schmid, and Joseph (Vicki) Schmid. Axel is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Axel is preceded in death by his father, Herb Erickson, grandfathers, Del Low and Dennis Hass and aunts and uncles.
