Azem Omeragic

Azem Omeragic Azem Omeragic of Albany, New York passed away on Thursday May 8, 2025. Azem was born in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina on October 31, 1954 to Nusret and Sabiha (Fetic) Omeragic. Azem finished vocational school and worked as a steam press operator at Alhos for many years and as a laborer at Destex Inc. He married Halida (Spuzanic) Omeragic in 1978 and they had two children Elma and Elvis. Azem came to the United States in 1997 and he lived in Albany until his passing. Azem's favorite hobby was fishing and he enjoyed many vacations and any free time at a lake with his fishing equipment. He also enjoyed playing video games and watching action movies. His latest favorite passtime were Bosnian, comedy YouTube and Facebook videos. Azem is predeceased by his father Nusret and his mother Sabiha (Fetic) Omeragic, his sister Fatima and his brother Adem. He leaves behind his son Elvis, his daughter Elma and son-in-law Chuck Waldo. Sister Medina, brother Sahzudin and sister-in-law Enisa and many nieces and nephews. Also in mourning are extended family Omeragic, Fetic, Hajdarevic and friends. A private family service will be held at Tebbutt & Frederick Memorial Home. Janazah prayers will be held on Monday May 12, 2025 at 1:30pm at the Muslim Community Center of the Capital District (ICCD), 21 Lansing Rd. N, Schenectady, NY followed by burial at Evergreen Memorial Park, Schenectady. All are invited for light refreshments to his daughter's home in Latham post funeral completion.
