Eunice Gibson Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Tebbutt and Frederick Memorial Home on Feb. 24, 2026.
Eunice E. (Page) Gibson passed away on February 21, 2026, in the presence of her family. She was the daughter of Christine Williams and the late Edward Page.

Eunice grew up in Schenectady, New York, attending Mt. Pleasant High School before studying at Maria College. She later married William Blanchard and together they had two children: William and Trena Blanchard.

Eunice worked at the Hamilton Art Center in Schenectady, NY, where she discovered her passion for arts, crafts, and working with children. She later shared these skills at church events and among friends. Her final position was at O.D. Heck Developmental Center, retiring as a Developmental Aide in 2014 after 30 years of service.

Eunice accepted Christ at an early age at Mt. Olivet Missionary Baptist Church. She served as a Deaconess and participated in both the Choir and Senior Ministry for more than five decades. She later joined her son at Union Missionary Baptist Church, where she continued to attend services until her health declined.

Eunice cared deeply for her family, and after remarrying (James Gibson), she also helped raise her stepchildren with the same affection.

Eunice is survived by her children, William (Wendy) Blanchard and Trena Blanchard; her stepchildren, Jamel, Vera, and Yolanda Gibson; her grandchildren, Lakeya Washington, Tahishiem, Nathan, Jasias Blanchard, Trayvon, and Ivana Bailey; as well as her step-grandchildren, Isaiah and Ishmael Guest, A'Prince McLean, Grace, and Aalia Gibson; great-grandchildren Umoja Bryant, Kazmere Johnson, Tahishiem Blanchard Jr., Ahmorra Singleton, Malachi Blanchard, and Mazie Giles; her mother, Christine Williams of Indianapolis, IN; sisters Josephine and Debra Page; brothers Rev. Ronald (Georgia) and Edward Page of Indianapolis, IN; adopted son Chris Dixon; and close friend Gail Randall, in addition to many other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Edward Page; sister, Estelle Page; and great-granddaughter, Sapphira Washington.

Eunice will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Her memory will forever live in our hearts. "To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord".
