B. Clark Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by McGuinness Funeral Homes - Woodbury on Mar. 17, 2026.
B. Lynn Clark, age 79, of Sewell, New Jersey, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of dedication, kindness, faith, and service to generations of students and her community.

Legacy

Lynn graduated with a BA in Elementary Education from Glassboro State College. After which she devoted 39 years to teaching in the Mantua Township Public School system. She began her career at Centre City School and most recently taught third grade at J. Mason Tomlin School. Over nearly four decades in the classroom, she taught a variety of grade levels and was known for her patience, warmth, humor, and unwavering belief in her students. Lynn loved working with children and young adults alike, and her impact on the lives of the many students she taught will be remembered for years to come. Lynn was also actively involved in the teachers' association, NJEA, and continued her involvement after retiring through membership in NJREA.

A lifelong resident of Sewell, Mantua Twp., Lynn lived in the home her grandparents built in 1917, a place filled with history, memories, and deep family roots.

Her Catholic faith was a guiding force throughout her life. Lynn was a devoted member of her church community and found great comfort and strength in her faith. Her values of compassion, generosity, and service to others were reflected in the way she lived each day, and, in the care, she showed to those around her.

She was predeceased by her parents, Frank and Betty Clark, and her brother, Jim Clark. Lynn will be dearly missed by her family of close friends, who cherished her kindness and loyalty, as well as relatives on both her mother's and father's sides of the family, all of whom cherished her generous spirit. Lynn loved animals and also leaves behind her precious cat, Rosie, who was a beloved companion and brought her many years of great comfort and joy.

Outside the classroom, Lynn was involved in her community. She coached softball for many years in a local township league, encouraging young athletes and sharing her love of the game. She was also a devoted sports fan who faithfully cheered on the Phillies and the Eagles. In her free time, Lynn enjoyed reading, watching movies, and reflecting on the many years earlier in her life when she traveled extensively across the country, exploring and appreciating the diverse beauty of the United States.

Lynn will be remembered for her dedication to education, her enthusiasm for working with young people, her steadfast faith, and the kindness she extended to everyone she met. Her presence will be deeply missed, but the memories she created and the lives she touched will remain a lasting tribute to a life well lived.

"A great teacher leaves lessons that last a lifetime, and a true friend leaves love that lasts forever." Lynn did both, and her legacy will live on in the countless lives she touched and the devoted friends she leaves behind.

Farewell Tribute

Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, March 25, at the Church of the Incarnation 240 Main Street, Mantua, New Jersey 08051. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in Bellmawr, New Jersey.

I will always remember Lynn's kindness while I taught at JMT for a number of years. I served on the MTEA Board with her and enjoyed her lighthearted manner even when the going was getting tough in negotiations from time to time. Her personality was so special! She was kind, thoughtful and a sweet Teacher to be around! Lynn will be so very missed by anyone who knew her.
To the family, I am so sorry for your loss. I am keeping you in my prayers that the memories you made with Barbara Lynn will help you through this sad and difficult time. As a Teacher who taught with her I, too, feel the loss and was hoping I could see her at a luncheon when I returned from my Winter home in Florida.
Rest in Peace, dear teacher friend, Lynn, until we meet again. With sincere sympathy and love, Linda Casto, Transitional First Grade Teacher who taught at JMT

Lynn was my first grade level partner at JMT in 1986 where we taught 3rd grade . I watched Lynn... she has a laid back, easy going style. Her students were happy and enjoying a snack anytime of the day in Lynn´s room! I was always in aw of how easy she made teaching look! She touched many lives in her devotion to the students of Mantua!
