Baheege Ayik, 95, of Shrewsbury, passed away on Wednesday, July31, 2024, at River Terrace Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Baheege is survived by his son, Dr. Michael Ayik, DMD and his wife Randi Ayik; and their daughter, Savannah Ayik, of Stow; a brother, Henry Ayik and his wife Ellie of Worcester; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by six siblings, Geroge and Norman Ayik, Adele Svendsen, Najala Lindquist, Victoria Bicknell, and Lynne Steeves. He was born in Worcester, son of the late, Salem and Mary (Haddad) Ayik. He served his nation proudly, in the United States Army, during World War II.
Baheege was union representative for nearly forty years with the United Auto Workers Union. He enjoyed watching sports and Perry Mason shows. He loved his cat and was especially happy to join his son and other friends several times a week at their breakfast gatherings.
Calling Hours will be on Tuesday, August 13, from 10:30 a.m. until 12:30 a.m. in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester. Interment with Military Honors will follow at 2 p.m. at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Winchendon.
