Balbir Singh Dhindsa was born on May 7th, 1959 to parents Jasbir Kaur and Nirmal Singh Dhindsa. He passed away on October 4th, 2025 at 66 years of age.

Balbir was born in India and immigrated to the UK with his family at a young age. He remained British in his words and heart throughout his life. He graduated from Imperial College with a degree in Aeronautical Engineering before obtaining a Masters degree in Computer Science from Birmingham University - his true passion. Eventually, Balbir settled in America with his wife and three children and it became his home.

Balbir was a loving husband to Meenu, a proud father to Simrat, Seerat, and Sejal, and a wonderful son and brother. He and his wife, Meenu, shared a great life together as partners in every aspect. He respected Meenu and loved her beyond anything. Balbir also cherished his beloved dog, Nala, and the new addition to the family, a cat named Percy.

Balbir’s energy was infectious. He touched the lives of whoever he met, in small and large ways, and constantly inspired those around him. He was always jovial and extremely genuine. Balbir went out of his way to help others and never shied away from sharing words of encouragement.

Balbir loved movies, reading articles, listening to podcasts, martial arts, was passionate about political causes, and most of all was creative about his work.

Please join us in celebrating his vivid, full, but too short life.

Visitation will be on Saturday, October 11, from 10am until the time a service at 12 noon with cremation to follow at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave., Crystal Lake.

Antim Ardas and Guru Ka Langar will then follow from 2pm until 4pm at Sikh Religious Society, 1280 Winnetka St., Palatine.
