Barbara and Delbert met in Rural Youth and participated in several games, dances and then square dancing. They spent many weekends square dancing in town parades. She partnered with Delbert in their farming operation and kept will managed gardens. Following their retirement from farming, both worked at the YMCA Childcare Center.

Barbara and Delbert also enjoyed camping with the Rolling Rivers Camping Club at many parks. Her favorite campsite was New Salem State Park. They enjoyed Saturday Night Card Club and were also active in the Ebenezer and Scotland Trinity Churches. She looked forward to water aerobics at the YMCA and was a Sewing Judge for the McDonough County Junior Show. Throughout her life she kept busy making quilts, giving away her many YOYO creations, which she was famous for and later she spent hours coloring, when sewing was difficult.

She was a member of the Scotland Trinity Church and actively supported her family in their activities. Barbara looked forward to family celebrations as well as one on one conversations.

I have such great childhood memories "hanging out" at the Woodford's. There wasn't ever a dull moment, and Barbara oversaw it all with patience, a firm but loving countenance, and humor. LOTS of humor. I loved her laugh, and she was always smiling...

...except for that one time when Spot (the horse) decided to abandon the farm and travel the world...with my skinny rear-end still in the saddle!! I hung on for dear life (as if I had a choice), and soon I heard Scott's shoes slapping behind us on the blacktop - running as fast as he could, and much to my relief he caught up with us, grabbing Spot's dangling reins and taking control (thank you Jesus), and leading us back to the lot!

So sending my heartfelt condolences (and hugs) to Melody, Kent, and Sheila and families. Your Mom was an incredible woman and touched many lives.
