Barbara Ann Arter

Barbara Ann Arter, a beloved matriarch and cherished friend, was born on January 6, 1934, in Van Buren, Arkansas. With a heart full of love and an indomitable spirit, Barbara graced this world until her passing on August 4, 2025. She will be remembered for her unwavering dedication to her family and her passion for nurturing the beauty of life through her beloved garden.

Throughout her life, Barbara cultivated not only the soil in her garden but also deep connections with her loved ones. She found joy in the simple pleasures of tending to her plants, which mirrored the love she poured into her family. Barbara's greatest gifts were her nurturing spirit and her ability to bring people together, creating a warm and welcoming home that served as a sanctuary for all who entered.

Barbara was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Elbert Arter, and her dear sons, Alan and Edwin Arter. Their absence left a void that will never be filled, but it is within her surviving family that her legacy continues to thrive. She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Sheila Arter, who holds a special place in the heart of the family; her grandchildren, Angelia Mcleroy and Eric Ricco of Texas, Anita Perry, Monica Jackson, and Hollie Arter and Eric Arter of Oklahoma, and Krystal Arter, Erin Shahan, and Rodney Arter of Arkansas, who all carry forward her spirit of kindness and love.

Barbara's family extended into a vast constellation of numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, each a testament to the love she shared during her lifetime. These connections brought her immense joy, and it was through them that she found her greatest pride and happiness.

As we gather to remember Barbara, we celebrate a life profoundly lived, marked by love, resilience, and an enduring bond that will not be forgotten.
