BARBARA ATTERBERRY Obituary

On Wednesday, April 21, 2021 Barbara Ann Atterberry (58), wife, mother, daughter, and sister passed away suddenly at home.

Barbara will be lovingly remembered by her husband Robert, her children Ross and Sarah, her mother Barbara Boers, her sister Jenny Sterner, along with her stepchildren Robert, Christopher, and Kelly Ann as well as her grandchildren Robert, Elsie, and Elliot.

Barbara's memory will live on through her family and friends.

Barbara was born in Eatontown, New Jersey, a small town near the beach. She received two degrees, advertising and teaching, from the University of West Florida before moving out to Seattle, where she fell in love with Robert Atterberry and had her two children Ross and Sarah.

Barbara had a deep love for the beach and had a passion for traveling whenever she could. She was most herself hiking and enjoying all nature had to offer. She loved listening to rock music and enjoyed seeing it live. Barbara was the life of the party and was often found feeding everyone and adored hosting any party.

Barbara's life will be celebrated in a family service at the Anacortes Lutheran Church on Tueday, May 4, at 12 p.m., and live streamed through AnacortesLutheran.org

Babs you welcomed me to the family with open arms, I sure had fun with you. We thought we’d be together for the long haul, what a very rude awakening to the reality of life. We only get what’s right now, that’s what we have.
I’m so sorry for the family and all of her dear friends. Barbara’s at home now.

My heart is just broken. Barbara and I had a wonderful relationship in personal and business throughout the years. I loved the business meetings where I could make her laugh. She will always be in my memories. Such a wonderful woman. And seeing the love she always had for Bob and her family was so refreshing. Thanks Barbara for letting me come every year and raid the cherry trees

I am so, so sad to hear this news. Barbara was a force to be reckoned with- hardworking, opinionated, friendly, fun, and a real ally for any school project. Anacortes will not be the same without her.
Love to all of you who loved her and her huge heart.
