Barbara E. Baker

1940 - 2025

Barbara E. Baker, 84, of Grapeville, passed away Saturday, March 15, 2025. She was born March 31, 1940, in Jeannette, a daughter of the late Hugo and Naomi (Mock) Rumain. Barbara attended Cornerstone Ministries, where she made many friends. She also was very involved with the McKenna Senior Center. Barbara greatly loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and she was greatly loved by them. Prior to her retirement, Barbara was a nursing assistant. In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Calvin D. Baker; her sister, Patricia Ann Brinker; and her brother, James Rumain. Barbara will be sadly missed by her daughter, Vicki Lynn (Larry) Decker; son, Calvin L. (Mary) Baker; sister, Janice (Paul) Madrid; many nieces and nephews; and friends from McKenna Senior Center. Barbara was a proud grandmother of Kara (Darrin) Sloan, Jenny Bryant (Joe Winkelman), Sarah (Chris) Kubicek, Calvin M. (Dara) Baker, and great-grandchildren, Aloni Stadterman, Quincy Bryant, Elijah Sloan, Callie Sloan, Braden Baker, and Emily Kubicek, whom she loved dearly. Family and friends will be received from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m., with a service at 7:15 p.m., on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, at the VAIA FUNERAL HOME INC., 463 Athena Drive, Delmont, (724-468-1177).
