Barbara recently passed away peacefully in her beloved home surrounded by family and her trusted dog. She was dearly loved by her children; Kathy (Bob), Tim (Brenda), Bob (Ingrid), Nancy and Danny, as well as her husband Ron, 7 siblings, 6 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren.
Barbara grew up in Berkley and was a longtime dual resident of Michigan and Florida. She was gifted with an artistic flair and an eye for design, two traits that led to her successful career as an interior designer. She shared her craft with many lucky family members and friends; practically everyone she knew asked for and received stylish decorating tips.
Barb excelled in nearly every role of her life. She was an avid gardener, an award-winning ballroom dancer, and a connoisseur of fine art.
She was also a gracious hostess with a mother's heart. Barbara will be remembered as the essential cornerstone of her large family, frequently hosting holiday meals set with elaborate linens, exquisite dinnerware, and a seat for everyone. She loved a warm beach, music, concerts, and throwing parties on the lake. Rarely without her Shih Tzu companions over the years (Emma, Boo, and Teddy), Barbara had a nurturing spirit that flowed freely to all.
Barbara was a loving and generous daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend to all. She will be dearly missed.
