Barbara Jean Beals, age 88 of Jewell, passed away Thursday, April 17, 2025, at Hilltop Lodge Health and Rehabilitation Center in Beloit.
She was born on October 25, 1936, in Riley, the daughter of Lonnie and Frances (Martin) Leonard.
Barbara was mostly a mother and homemaker, but did work for Wonder Woman Cleaning Service in Manhattan for several years. She loved flowers, feeding birds and truly loved all her family and Elvis Presley.
She is survived by her four children, Mike Pelsor (Deb) of Salina, David Evans (Marilyn) of Manhattan, Mark Beals (Deb) of Jewell, and Linda Hitsman (Tony) of Keystone Heights, Florida; one sister, Letha Hail of Manhattan; twenty-one grandchildren, and numerous great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James Beals; her daughter, Jamie Jo Kimbrough, and four brothers, Jack Leonard, Ben Leonard, Richard Budden, and Dale Budden.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 25, 2025, in the Riley Cemetery with Pastor Kevin Larson officiating.
