Barbara Jean (Herman) Beideck entered heaven on November 17, 2024, at the age of 93. Jean was born in Culbertson on July 10, 1931, to Conrad and Lillian Herman. She married Gerald (Jerry) Beideck on June 25, 1950.
Jean and Jerry spent 70 wonderful years together, never apart for more than a day or two. They lived in the same house that Jerry and his brother Dick built in 1957. Jean loved Jesus, her family, church, her flower garden, knitting, reading, and walking. She checked out and delivered McCook library books to Hillcrest residents for several years. When asked how she knew whether she’d checked out a book before, she said, “I always mark a “J” on the inside back cover!”
Jean is survived by sons Steve Beideck (Gera) and Mark Beideck (Bodell); four grandchildren - Josh Beideck (Lisa), Ashley Curtis (Dustin), Jake Beideck, and Mick Beideck (Brooke); six great grandchildren - Haley and Koral Beideck, Kyah and Lathan Curtis, and Wyatt and Winter Beideck, sister Hope Strong, a niece and nephews, and their special neighbors and friends, Doug and Bobbi Hiatt.
Jean was preceded in death by husband Jerry, her parents Conrad and Lillian, and brother Bill Herman.
