Barbara Ann Beumer

Barbara Ann Beumer (Nelson), of Springfield, MO, passed from this life on July 31, 2024. She was 82 years old. Barb was born on February 28, 1942, to Wilma and Lawrence Nelson in Washington D.C. She moved to Springfield as a young girl and lived there for the rest of her life.
Growing up, Barb spent many of her summers at Table Rock Lake where she met her husband of 58 years. The two we married on August 25, 1963. They had 3 sons. Barbara worked as a medical transcriptionist for St. Johns (now Mercy) and Cox Hospital for most of her life, taking breaks to raise her boys.
Barbara enjoyed many simple pleasures throughout her life including laying out in her pool, Boston Crème pie, Supreme Bakery's Kringle, and tending to her plants, her favorite things however, were her family, friends, daisies, wind-chimes, and especially cats.
Barb was preceded in death by her husband William "Mickey" Beumer, her parents Wilma and Lawrence, other family members, and the plethora of cats she loved throughout her life.
Barb is survived by her sons Jeff (Melanie) Beumer, Alan (Nevena Todorovic) Beumer, and Chris Beumer; 4 grandchildren Susan Beumer, Ben Beumer, Allie Beumer, and Kyndal Beumer; 3 great-grandchildren; her best friend since the 6th grade Susan (Jim) Bryan); and her cats Silvy and Margaret.
A Memorial Visitation for Barb will be held on Friday, August 9th, from 1pm-2pm at Greenlawn Funeral Home North.
