Diane Beumer Obituary
Diane Cecilia Beumer was born May 6, 1949, in Faribault, Minnesota, to Leo and Lillian (Cyr) Barry. She was raised in Albert Lea, graduating from Albert Lea High School in 1967. Following her education she lived in the Twin Cities while working for NorthWest Bank, later transferring to Northfield. On September 4, 1971, Diane married Wayne Beumer at St Theodore Catholic Church in Albert Lea. Diane dedicated her early years to raising her children as a loving and devoted stay-at-home mom. During tax seasons, she worked at Reese, Winter, and Erickson. Later in life, Diane found joy and fulfillment as a special education bus driver, first for Aggie Pavek and later for Benjamin Bus, where her kind and compassionate nature touched the lives of many children and families. Diane was a member of the Church of St. Dominic. She enjoyed cooking & baking, playing golf, bowling, flowers and watching her grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband of 53 years Wayne; her children Chad (Lori) of Northfield, Danielle (Scott) Collignon of Savage; 4 grandchildren Ross, Joshuah, Blake and Georgia, and her sisters, Mary Kay Brown of Clear Lake, IA, Dorothy Paulsen of Washington, Carol Eveslage of Wanamingo, and Sharon Teeter of Inver Grove Heights, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her sisters Phyllis Dean of Clear Lake IA, and Patricia Schwichtenberg of Maple Grove, Geraldine and of St. Petersburg FL and her parents.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM, Saturday, January 18, 2025, at the Church of St. Dominic in Northfield. Visitation will be from 4-7 PM, Friday, January 17, 2025, at Bierman, Benson & Langehough Funeral Home in Northfield, and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church. A reception will follow mass and interment will be in the spring at Calvary Cemetery, Northfield.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Alzheimer's Association. www.alz.org.
