Barbara (Bobbie) Jean Homsher, 87 of Austin, Arkansas went to be with the Lord on August 29, 2025. She was born on February 25, 1938, to the late Clarence and Bellzie Cordell in Asheville, North Carolina. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Jimmy, Ray and Roy Cordell, sister, Mary Postell and grandson, Alex Cash.

She is survived by her loving husband, Ron, of 70 years; her sons Jerry, Dennis (Sandra), Lewis (Kim) Homsher; her daughter Canderia Cash; brothers William and Frank Cordell; sisters Sarah Crowder and Gloria Fekeith; grandsons Michael (Staci) Homsher, Chad (Stephanie) Hart, Jeremy (Sarah) Homsher, Beau (Bailey) Flynn; granddaughters Lauren Homsher, Wendi (Scoop) Bloxson and Katelin Flynn; great grandsons Cade and Gavin Hart, Miguel Homsher, Josh Ruiz, Carter and Weston Bock; great granddaughters  Katalina Homsher, Avery, Rylee, Blakelynn and Addyson Homsher, Neveah and A’niah Bloxson, Celeste Ruiz, Blair Flynn; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Barbara was the oldest daughter in the family of nine children and had a lot of responsibility caring for her family. Family was so important to her!

She worked for 25 years as a bookkeeper for E. Ray Smith, a builder in Jacksonville, Arkansas. She served as president and treasurer for the Arkansas Ceramic Association. Barbara was an amazing artist crafting ceramics and porcelain. She was asked at many Art Shows to paint the eyes on ceramics for other artists because of her gift to create life-like eyes. The details in her creations were exquisite. She attended many craft shows to sell her works of art. Barbara also entered her works of art into Fairs. She was gifted in her abilities to knit, crochet and take photography.

Barbara was so caring and would help neighbors when they were in need. She loved to cook; lasagna and chicken and dumplings were frequent requests from family.
