Barbara L. Bogdan (nee Sharp)

Age 92, of Mokena, IL formerly of South Holland, IL, passed away at home surrounded by her loving family. Barbara was born in Chicago, IL to the late Clement and Jean (nee Przybylinski) Sharp.

Beloved wife of the late Leonard J. Bogdan (1998); loving mother of Phillip Bogdan, Margaret Russo, William (Laura) Bogdan, and John (Christi) Bogdan; cherished Busia of Hannah Bogdan, Easton Russo, Jack Bogdan, Rylan Bogdan, Madelyn Bogdan, Casey Bogdan, and Noli Bogdan; dear sister of the late Richard (late Terry) Sharp and the late Cynthia Sharp; loved aunt, cousin, and friend of many.

Barbara received a master's degree in nursing. She was a Nursing Instructor at South Suburban College, South Holland, IL, retiring in 1998. She was past President and past Vice President of the Illinois Nurses Association. Barbara sang in the choir at Holy Ghost Catholic Church in South Holland, IL and then at St. Mary Catholic Church, Mokena, IL. She loved spending time with family and friends and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Barbara’s name to L A R C Services, Lansing, IL, Lightways Hospice, Joliet, IL or The Diveheart Foundation Downers Grove, IL would be appreciated.

The family will receive friends at Kurtz Memorial Chapel 102 E. Francis Rd, New Lenox, IL on Sunday, November 30, 2025, from 2 PM – 5 PM. Funeral Services will be on Monday, December 1, 2025, with prayers at the funeral home at 9:30 AM then to St. Jude’s Catholic Church, New Lenox, IL for Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM. Interment to follow at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery, Calumet City, IL.
