Barbara Bour

Barbara Bour, 73, of Mishawaka entered heavenly rest on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, at her home surrounded by family. She was born on March 17, 1951, in South Bend to the late Stanely and Clara (Hojara) Matuszkiewicz. Was raised by Clara and Thomas Fox, and just recently celebrated her 51-year anniversary with Phillip Bour prior to her passing.
Phillip survives along with their daughters, Shellie and Amy Bour, both of Mishawaka, four grandchildren, Kylee (Cameron) Clark, Alyssa Bour, Ellen Piechocki, and Evin Bour-Gilson. Great Grandchildren Easton, Lawson, and Violet, step-siblings, Thomas Fox Jr, Kathryn Porter, Nancy Rieffel, and James Fox, and Nephews Kevin (Leila) Brzezinski and Shawn Brzezinski among two great nieces and four great nephews, a sister in law Phyllis (Duoc) Hong, Nieces, Tina (Peter) Kraakman, and Anita Schultz among several other great nieces and nephew also survive. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her in laws Chester (Laverne) Bour, and nephew, Chris Berreth
Barbara dedicated most of her working career to keeping the facilities at Notre Dame immaculate, a task she took pride in both at work and at home. Beyond her professional life, she had a passion for shopping and always made sure her clothes and hair looked polished before going out, especially after 15 years working as a beautician. Family was incredibly important to her; she loved attending school events to support her loved ones and cherished the time spent at her Lake Cottage on Big Fish Lake in Michigan.
The holidays held a special place in Barbara's heart, particularly Thanksgiving and Christmas, when she relished creating memorable moments with her family. Known as the "glue" of her family, she was selfless in her support of others while still possessing a delightful spunk that brought joy to every gathering. Barbara's vibrant spirit and loving nature will be profoundly missed by all who knew her.
Per her families wishes cremation has taken place with a private family celebration scheduled at a later date.
