Barbara J. Boylan, 90 of Westerville, Ohio went to be with the Lord, passing peacefully in the early afternoon on Monday, February 13, 2023. She was born July 26, 1932, to Reba and Wayne Manahan in Sabina, OH. She married James R. Boylan on September 15, 1951. Barbara and James had 6 children together, whom they loved dearly. Barbara retired from Social Security as a Claims Representative on July 31st 1992. She was very dedicated to helping others. Barbara loved being a part of the arts, she was a member/director/actress with the Curtain Players of Westerville for many years. Barbara was a founding member of the Stitch and Bitch Quilters Club. She also enjoyed traveling with close friends for many years, calling themselves the BSers! Barbara was dedicated to capturing every moment surrounding her friends and most importantly her family. She went as far as researching every Boylan member, dating all the way back to our original origin from Ireland documenting our history in time. When it came to her grandkids it was important that they were showered with love. One of the perks was having a big hill in the backyard for the grandkids to slide down in the winter. Once the fun was over it was warm clothes and hot chocolate to end the day. Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband of 55 years, her son Tim (Julie) Boylan and Mark Boylan. Barbara is survived by her son Bruce (Linda) Boylan, Gary (Cindy) Boylan, daughter Peg Wible and Matt (Debbie) Boylan. She had many grandchildren including Tanya Boylan, Patrick (Oy) Boylan, Kathryn (Kevin) Carlin, Maria (Jack) Factor, Christine Wible, Paige Boylan. She had three great grandkids Ashely Boylan, Anabele Boylan and Garrett Carlin. Sister-in-law, Jean A. Boylan (great friend). Friends may call at the Moreland Funeral Home, 55 E. Schrock Road, Westerville, Thursday 5-7 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Matthew Catholic Church, 807 Havens Corners Road, Gahanna, OH Friday at 10:30 a.m., Rev. Fr. Stephen Carnody, celebrant, Interment Blendon Central Cemetery.Special thanks to the staff of The Woodlands of Columbus and Capital City Hospice for their great passion and dedication.
