Mrs. Barbara Annette Parham Brown, 75, of Elberton, wife of 25 years to the late Chandler Otto Brown, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital following a courageous battle with leukemia.
Barbara was born in Elberton on August 30, 1950, the eldest of three children of the late Ralph Clifford Parham and Betty Jean Paul Parham. She was a 1968 graduate of Elbert County High School and furthered her education at Athens Technical College. Barbara worked as a medical billing clerk having retired from Athens Cardiology.
She was a member of Lake Russell Baptist Church and a former member of Antioch Baptist Church. During her time living in Athens, Barbara attended Northside Baptist Church and enjoyed going on mission trips to Mexico and Cape Cod with them.
Affectionately known as “Mama B” to those closest to her, she was always there supporting her sons and grandchildren in anything they did. Barbara loved being with her family and enjoyed making memories with them, many of which were at the Fish and Game Club at Clarks Hill Lake.
Surviving are her sons: Jason Ashley Brown and his wife Kimberly of Tignall and Joshua Paul Brown and his wife Amy of Elberton; grandchildren: Austin Ray Brown, Chansley Leanne Brown, and Caraleigh Grace Brown; brother, Donnie Parham of Dewy Rose; sister, Debbie Moore of Woodstock; aunts: Jeanette Russell of Comer and Anna Merle Parham of Elberton; and a host of other relatives and friends.
The family is at their respective homes and will receive friends on Friday, January 16, from 6:00p.m. until 8:00p.m. at Berry Funeral Home.
Funeral services celebrating Barbara’s life will be conducted on Saturday, January 17, at 11:00a.m. at Antioch Baptist Church with the Rev. Phil Keown officiating. She will be placed in the church at 10:00a.m.
Interment will follow in the church cemetery where she will be laid to rest beside her beloved Chandler. Pallbearers will include Tommy Carroll, Randy Rice, Dean Addison, Kyle Parham, Greg Yarbrough, and Bruce Parham.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to T.J. & Friends Foundation, Post Office Box 6161, Elberton, GA 30635 or to Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 2479 Antioch Church Road, Dewy Rose, GA 30634.
