Barbara Jean (Erickson) Brown went to her heavenly home on Saturday, Feb. 7, 2026.
She was born on June 15, 1935 in Lansing to Gladys Doris (Clute) and Oscar Rudolph Erickson. When Barb was a young girl, her family moved from Lansing to Tawas City where she attended school.
She met her husband, William Brown, in fourth grade, and later they became high school sweethearts and married on July 31, 1954 at East Tawas Assembly of God Church. They shared 71 years of marriage together.
They celebrated the birth of their four children, Gregory, Kenneth, Shelley and Richard.
Barbara was the Domestic Manager of the household as their children grew and later worked alongside her husband who owned and operated the local businesses Insurance Designers and Singing Bridge Golf Course.
Barbara was an avid bowler and golfer. She bowled at Tawas Lanes for many years and was proud to have bowled against professional bowler, Paula Sperber in the 1970s at Tawas Lanes. She golfed at Tawas Golf Course, and later at Singing Bridge Golf Course. She thoroughly enjoyed playing Euchre and Thirty-One with her friends and family. She loved dancing, music and could be heard humming wherever she was.
She and William wintered in Florida where she enjoyed golfing, playing cards, and attending local concerts.
She held the position of Madam President of the local Tawas Bay Fraternal Order of Eagles ladies group (Auxiliary) in East Tawas, which she enjoyed serving in that capacity.
Barbara is survived by her husband, William; children, Gregory (Pam), Kenneth (Trisha), Shelley (David) Revord, Richard (Patti), all of Tawas City; and grandchildren, Natalie, Mike, Kristen, Michelle, Nicholas, Alyssa, Sara, Laura, and Austin. Not only were her grandchildren a special part of her life, but seeing the interaction with her great grandchildren was priceless.
She is also survived by her siblings and spouses, Clifford (Charlotte) Erickson of Oscoda, Bruce (Janice) Erickson of Madison Heights, Alvin (Margaret) Erickson of AuGres, Ronalee Sedlemaier of Lansing, and Larry (Darlene) Erickson, of Tawas City; and sister-in-law, Myrna Erickson of Tawas City; along with many dear nieces and nephews. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Judy Rinehart of St. Cloud, Fla.; and brother-in-law, Jerry (Elaine) Brown of Tawas City.
