It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Barbara Lou Goode Bryant of Levelland, Texas, who passed away on January 8th, 2025, at the age of 81.
Barbara Bryant was born October 21st, 1943, in Ballinger, Texas to Winona Faubion and Buford Goode. She was a lifelong resident of Levelland, Texas but spent some years in Austin, Texas. Barbara graduated Salutatorian from Ropesville High School in 1962 and from Texas Tech University with a Master’s Degree in Education and Accounting. Barbara was a passionate educator and spent her early career teaching business and accounting in Whiteface, Texas. She worked at multiple banking institutions including Levelland Savings and Loan and Levelland State Bank, and the Texas Racing Commission in Austin, Texas. Barbara was a visionary entrepreneur, launching multiple businesses over the years. She was instrumental in the founding of K-Bar Texas Electric and later helped with Bryant Electric. Beyond her professional achievements she will be remembered for her love and thirst for knowledge in theology, history, politics and science. Barbara also found joy in arts and crafts, animal rescue, and writing.
Barbara is survived by her son, Ricky Lynn Bryant and wife, Mayra; daughter, Darla Michelle Ivey and husband, Dub; five grandchildren, Mandy Mimms, Shauna Franklin (Mark), Ashley Bryant, Dillon Ivey (Alejandra), Demi Schulz (Max); nine great grandchildren; sister, Gwen Patterson and niece, Jeree Hanavec. She was preceded in death by her parents, Buford and Winona Goode; son Steven Roy Bryant; sisters, Nathleen Lanelle Goode and Wanda Carol Goode; grandson, Derick Ivey and nephew, Shane Blakemore.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, January 14th, 5:00-7:00 pm at Krestridge Funeral Home, 505 Austin Street in Levelland, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Levelland Animal Shelter.
