Barbara Jean Ford Bumgardner
Barbara Bumgardner passed at the age of 82 on January 27, 2023.
Born on November 30, 1940, Barbara was the daughter of the late Wade and Maggie Ford. She was a wonderful and loving wife of nearly 65 years to the late Kenneth Bumgardner Sr. of Kings Mountain, NC, proud mother of Kenneth Harold Bumgardner Jr. of Kings Mountain, NC, Christopher Wade Bumgardner of Gastonia, NC, the late Kevin Shawn Bumgardner of Sherrills Ford, NC and Melanie Bumgardner O'Bryan of Charlotte, NC. Proud grandmother of Sarah, Holland, Christopher, Matthew, Alyssa, Britni, Megan, Matteson, Carson and Riley, proud great-grandmother to Mackenzie, Peyton, Benji, Sawyer, Za'Mir, Zaelyn, Dannalee, Kaitland, Hadley, mother-in-law to Donna (Kenny), Joy (Chris), Heather (Shawn) and Drew (Melanie).
Barbara was an amazing and loving mother and grandmother, a member of Second Baptist Church and well-respected member of the Kings Mountain community.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son Kevin Shawn Bumgardner and her sister, Susie Ford Tucker. She is survived by her sons Kenny (Donna) and Chris (Joy) and her daughter Melanie (Drew), as well as her grandchildren, great grandchildren, sisters Brenda Ivester, Kay Moss (Reggie), Wanda Laughter (Keith), brothers Ted Ford (Pam) and Charles Ford as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
GRAVESIDE SERVICE: Monday, January 30, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Mountain Rest Cemetery with Pastor Dennis Pruitt officiating
INTERMENT: Mountain Rest Cemetery, Kings Mountain, North Carolina
