Barbara Ann Harris Chambliss passed away at the age of 89 on Tuesday, December 24, 2024. She was born August 30, 1935, in Pine Bluff to Louis Otto Bluerock, Sr. and Geraldine Enderby Bluerock. She was reared and educated in Pine Bluff. After graduating from Pine Bluff High School in 1953, she attended Fuhr School of Business in Pine Bluff. She married Jimmy Allen Harris in 1957.
She was a payroll clerk with the Arkansas State Highway Contractor, Southeast Construction Co., Inc., where she was employed for eighteen years. In 1986, she and her husband opened an electronic business, Harris Electronic Distributing Co., Inc. where she worked until their retirement in 2002.
She was a past member of Central Presbyterian Church in Pine Bluff. After retirement, she became a member of the Presbyterian Kirk in the Pines Church in Hot Springs Village, AR.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Jimmy Allen Harris; son, Carl Allen "Bubba" Harris; brother, Louis Otto Bluerock, Jr.; sister, Evelyn Elizabeth Crow; step-son, Mark Chambliss; and her parents.
Survivors include her husband, Dan Chambliss; her daughter, Monica Ann Harris; step-son, Lewis Chambliss (Theresa); sister, Mary Bluerock Harris of Murfreesboro, NC; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held at 10:30 A.M. Saturday, December 28, 2024, in the Chapel of Ralph Robinson and Son Funeral Home. The family will receive visitors prior to the service from 10:00-10:30 A.M. Services will be officiated by Rev. George Mitchell.
Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery in Pine Bluff.
In lieu of flowers, donations will be accepted at Ferncliff Camp and Conference Center, 1720, Ferncliff Rd., Little Rock, AR 72223.
