Taylor Funeral Home of Louisville announces the death and services of Mrs. Barbara J. Cheeks, age 75, of Louisville who died Friday evening, March 21, 2025.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday March 25, in the Louisville Methodist Church with Rev. Dan Underwood officiating. The family will receive friends one hour before services at the church. Burial will follow in the Davisboro City Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Hurbert Cheeks, Kenneth Cheeks, Dennis Cheeks, Jason Arrington, Steve Mauney and Larry Rhodes.
Mrs. Cheeks was born in Louisville, on April 17, 1949, and was the daughter of the late Gordon Lee Arrington and Minnie Lou Gibson Arrington. She retired from Thermo King in 2002 after 15 years of service. Barbara served as a Pink Lady at Jefferson Hospital. She was a member of Louisville Methodist where she served on numerous ministries including Helping Hands, Good Sheppard Thrift store, and the Sunshine Committee. Barbara was always willing to help wherever she was needed she will be missed by all who knew her.
Mrs. Cheeks was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Carol Mauney she is survived by her beloved husband of 43 years Joe Cheeks, of Louisville, brother Charles Arrington (Linda) of Swainsboro, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and lifelong friends.
If so desired in lieu flowers the family request memorials in Barbara's name to the Louisville Methodist Church.
