Barbara Ann Chupp, 80, of Chouteau, Oklahoma, passed away on Thursday, December 11, 2025, surrounded by family at her home. Barbara was born in Palo Alto, California, to Alonzo Lee Brimer and Geral Dean (Weaver) Brimer on August 23, 1945. She spent many years working as a bookkeeper at G.A.P. Roofing, where she was known for her dedication and strong work ethic, before retiring. Barbara was united in marriage to Leroy Chupp, and together they made their home in Chouteau and raised three children. She was an active and faithful member of Chouteau First Baptist Church, where she served in many ways, including helping with the church’s clothing closet and preparing funeral meals. Serving others was simply part of who she was. Above all, Barbara loved her family — especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking, camping, and spending time playing Bunco and Skip-Bo with those she loved. She also loved gardening and sewing. Her warmth, generosity, and steady presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Barbara is survived by her husband, Leroy Chupp, of the home; her sons, Perry Chupp and wife Pam, and Barry Chupp and wife Darlene; her daughter, Danelle Moore and husband James; her sister, Lewanna Shaw; 13 grandchildren, Jessica, Austin, Adam, Anna, Sarah, Rachel, Adalyn, Audra, Jerod, Heath, Taylor, Riley and Weston; 6 great-grandchildren, Alli, Maddi, Alayna, Kate, Kyle, Will, and another one on the way; along with many other relatives and friends who were blessed to know her. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alonzo and Geral Dean Brimer, and her brother, Marion Brimer.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, December 15, 2025, in the Chouteau First Baptist Church with Pastor Caleb Parks officiating. Jerod Chupp, Heath Chupp, Adam Chupp, Taylor Moore, Riley Moore, and Weston Moore will serve as casket bearers. Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m., Sunday, December 14, 2025, at Shipman’s Funeral Home in Pryor.
