Barbara Corbin Obituary
Born April 28, 1938 in Fairhope, PA, Mrs. Corbin was the daughter of the late Harry William Merkel, Sr. and Margaret Elizabeth (Butler) Merkel. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Corbin, Sr., 1997; a son: Ernest Corbin, Jr; brothers: Harry Merkel, Jr; and Thomas Merkel; a sister: Kay LaBonte; and two grandchildren: Michael Corbin, Jr. and Christine Conrey.
Barbara retired in 2003 from Baltimore Life Insurance Company with 22-1/2 years. She was a member of Ellerslie United Methodist Church and also Ellerslie Fire Department Auxiliary.
Barbara is survived by her sons: Michael Corbin and wife Angela; and Jeffrey Corbin; a sister: Carol Dawson; and a brother: Darrell Merkel and wife Joan; as well as 3 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur Street, Cumberland, MD, on Thursday, December 21, 2023, from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 P.M., with Alan Whitworth officiating.
Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made in her name to Ellerslie United Methodist Church 14307 Temple St NW Ellerslie, MD 21502.
