Ida Mae Davis, 101, of Frostburg, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 1,2026, at UPMC Western Maryland Hospital in Cumberland, Maryland.
Born on April 18, 1924, in Frostburg, Ida was the daughter of the late Fred Fisher and Almeta Fisher Summers. She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Earl Samuel Davis and granddaughter, Danielle Lavin.
Ida was known for her generous heart and deep care for others. She shared a special bond with her devoted caregiver, Debbie Myers, and Debbie’s granddaughter, Hayden Frost, who brought her great joy. Ida was a loving mother,grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, and her family was the center of her life.
She is survived by her daughter, Cathy Gourlay of Dothan, Alabama, and her son,Frederick E. Davis of LaPlata, Maryland; four grandchildren, Danette L. Miller of Dothan, Alabama, Julie Becker and husband Derrick of LaPlata, Maryland, JessicaM. Davis of St. Leonard’s, Maryland, and Frederick “Sonny” Davis and wife Heather of Newburg, Maryland; seven great-grandchildren, Caleb, Cohen, Isaiah, Xavier,Gracie, Teylor, and Thomas; and one great-great-grandchild, Ren Holland.
Ida was a devoted member of the Eastern Star for more than 60 years and proudly served as Worthy Matron. Those who knew her will remember her with smiles,gratitude, and the comforting hope of being reunited with her in Heaven.
A Celebration of Life will be held in the spring at Durst Funeral Home.
