Virginia L. Cuthbertson, 82, of Grahamtown, passed away on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at Mountain City Rehab Center.
Cookie was born on February 1, 1944, in Frostburg, to the late Howard and Alma (Bittner)Holtzman. In addition to her parents she is preceded by her husband, William Robert Cuthbertson; sisters, Geraldine Walls, Alma Jean Driscoll, Erma Loera Thompson and Martha Baker; brothers, Edward and Howard Holtzman.
She spent many years working as a bank teller, where her kindness and easy conversation made customers feel like friends. She loved baking homemade bread, cinnamon rolls and other delicious treats for family and friends, especially at Christmas. Anyone that knew Cookie,knows she loved shopping and talking on the phone. In recent years, she discovered a wonderful talent for painting and especially loved creating canvas portraits- most famously of her adored"grand-dogs". Her creativity, generosity, and love for her family were reflected in everything she did.
Surviving are her son, Robert and his wife Patti, Frostburg; daughter, Rona Wallace and husbandGreg, Rock Island, IL; grandchildren, Cayton Wallace (Kaitlyn), Trenton Wallace (Taylor) and,Morgan and Brayden Cuthbertson; great grandson, Rhett Wallace; sister, Juanita Michaels,Gainesville FL; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
Funeral service to celebrate Cookie's life will be on Monday, March 16, 2026, at 10 AM with Pastor Jim Jeffries Officiating at Durst Funeral Home.
A private family Inurnment will be in Rocky Gap Veterans' Cemetery.
