Barbara Crawford, 81, of Galesburg, passed away on Wednesday, December 13, 2023 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria.

 

Barb was born on September 9, 1942 in Detroit, Michigan. She was the daughter of Joseph and Eva Burwell. Barb married the love of her life, William Crawford in April 10. 1965. Together they celebrated 59 years of marriage. Surviving Barb is her husband, William of Galesburg; daughters, Pamela (Donald) Hickey and Tammy (Brad) Gregory, both of Galesburg; grandchildren, Kimberly (Seth) Hill and their child, Aubree, Andrew (Amy) Hickey, Bradley (Lynsey) Gregory, II and their children, Cloe, Delilah and Isabel, Tyler (Morganne) Gregory and their child, Micah, Zachary (Emma) Gregory and Brandy Gregory; and a special niece, Tina (Dan) Cook and family. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Billy and brothers, Joseph, II and Melvin.

 

Barb graduated from Detroit area schools. She was of Catholic faith. Barb was known as the “best short-order cooks ever.” In her spare time, she loved to cook, bake and crochet. She also loved her long conversations she had her daughter Pam.  She was always giving away her baby blankets and items she crocheted. Barb was a good mother and excellent wife; she was always helpful and very giving.

 

Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM, Friday, December 22, 2023 at Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Homes and Crematory, Knoxville. Visitation will be one hour prior to services. Deacon Michael Crummer will officiate. Memorials may be donated to the family. Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Homes and Crematory are assisting the family with arrangements.  On-line condolences and/or expressions of sympathy may be sent through www.hurd-hendricksfuneralhome.com
