Barbara Jean Crofoot, a beloved mother, sister, grandmother, and friend passed away peacefully at the age of 99 on Tuesday, January 13th, 2026, in Grandville, MI. She was born on November 15, 1926 to George W. Martin and Georgia (Patterson) Martin.
Barbara is survived by her daughters: Alice (Randy) Zuidema, Carol Rummelt, and Mary Foley. She was the proud grandmother to many grandchildren and will be lovingly remembered by her sister, Suzanne "Suzie" Fetterley, along with several nieces and nephews. Barbara was preceded in death by her loving husband, Rex L. Crofoot, her son, Jim Crofoot, her parents George and Georgia Martin, and her brothers, Harold "Herky" Martin and Gerald "Jerry" Martin.
Barbara dedicated her professional life as a treasurer for Sparta township and also served as an organist and secretary at Sparta United Methodist Church for 17 years. Her faith and dedication to her community were exemplified by her involvement in the Sarah Ruth Circle. Barbara enjoyed her travels and spending serene moments camping at Sandy Pines for 29 years and "the property" with her family over Labor Day weekend.
Visitation will be held at Crandell Funeral Home - White Cloud Chapel on Sunday, January 18th, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm. A Celebration of Life service will follow at 3:00 pm at the same location, with a luncheon afterward at the United Church of Christ located at 432 Quarterline St, Newaygo, MI 49337. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Sparta United Methodist Church, honoring Barbara's lifelong commitment and contribution to her faith community. Arrangements have been entrusted to Crandell Funeral Home - White Cloud Chapel.
