Barbara Dauterive Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jan. 19, 2012.
Funeral Services will be held at an 11:00 am Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, January 24, 2012 in the Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers for Barbara Dejean Dauterive, 78, who passed away on January 19, 2012 at 8:05 pm at Lafayette General Medical Center. Reverend Monsignor Charles Mallet will be Celebrant of the Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Burial will take place in Calvary Cemetery. Mrs. Dauterive, a native and lifelong resident of Lafayette, LA, was the daughter of the late Oswald Dejean and the former Bella Castille both of Lafayette, LA. She was a wife, mother and grandmother with a kind heart, always ready with a hug and a kiss. She lived for her grandchildren, spoiling them every chance she got. She was a past volunteer of the Pink Ladies of Lafayette General Hospital. Surviving only 6 months beyond the recent death of her husband of 56 years, it was time for her to go "Catch up" with him. She is survived by one daughter, Pamela Dauterive Gibaut of Houston, TX; one son, Randal Dauterive and wife Paula Boudreaux Dauterive of Lafayette, LA; four grandchildren, Jessica Anne Dauterive, Ian Philip Gibaut, Molly Marie Dauterive, and Claire Elizabeth Gibaut; and one sister, Billie Dejean Landry of Milton, LA. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Edward James Dauterive, and an infant daughter, Lisa Gay Dauterive. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home of Lafayette Tuesday, January 24, 2012 from 8:00 am until the time of service. The family would like to extend a special thanks to her caregivers, Mary Williams and Candace Perridon, for all their loving care. In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorial contributions can be made in the name of Mrs. Dauterive to the Carmelite Monastery. Personal condolences may be sent to the Dauterive family at www.delhommefuneralhome.com. Delhomme Funeral Home, 1011 Bertrand Drive, Lafayette, LA, is in charge of funeral arrangements.
