Barbara Jean Davis

Barbara Jean Davis, age 81, of Little Rock, Arkansas, passed away December 23, 2025. She was born on December 2, 1944, in Little Rock, Arkansas, to Woodrow Black and Imogene Casey Black.

Barbara was a proud graduate of Little Rock Central High School, Class of 1962. She began her career with Union Life Insurance Company early in life and later returned to the company in 1985, where she worked until her retirement in 2006. During her tenure, Union Life became Southern Pioneer Insurance, and Barbara remained a dedicated and valued employee throughout those years.

In 1964, Barbara married the love of her life, William A. “Al” Davis, in Little Rock. Together they shared 61 years of marriage, building a life rooted in faith, family, and friendship. In later years, Barbara and Al especially cherished time spent with friends and family at their beloved family property in Batesville, Arkansas—creating countless memories.

Barbara was a woman of quiet strength and devotion to those she loved. She was a faithful member of Indian Springs Baptist Church in Bryant.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William A. “Al” Davis; her parents, Woodrow and Imogene Black; and her brother, Woodrow Black Jr.

Barbara is survived by her daughter, Traci Morehead (Mike) of Bryant; her sons, Dennis Davis (Monica) of Mabelvale and William D. “Doug” Davis (Angela) of Mabelvale; and her beloved grandchildren: Jordan Billson (Tyler) of Benton, Jenna Freeman (Chase) of Benton, Hannah Davis of Hector, Kampbell Davis of Mabelvale, and Paylin Davis of Mabelvale. She was also blessed with three great-granddaughters, Harper and Holland Billson and Stevie Freeman, all of Benton.

She is further survived by her sisters-in-law, Linda Shedd of Manila and Lillian Morrison (Winston) of Beebe; her brother-in-law, Ron Cook of Batesville; and many special nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews who loved her dearly.

The family extends their deepest gratitude to Barbara’s caregiver and dear friend, Cindy Gonzalez, for the compassion, love, and friendship she showed to their mother, and to her nephew, Brandon Kempf, for the care, concern, and love he gave her.

A visitation will be held at 11:30 AM on Friday, January 2, 2026, at Indian Springs Baptist Church with a funeral service beginning at 12:30 PM. Burial will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park at 2:00 PM.
