Barbara Ann Debnam, 89, passed away on November 22, 2025 at her home in Louisburg. Barbara was born on February 11, 1936 to the late Harold and Elsie Bailey Hudson. In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Owen Charles Debnam; a daughter, Julie Hunt; sisters, Sandra Cottrell and Vivian Gonzalez; and a brother, Ronald Hudson.
Barbara is survived by her daughter, Cindy Debnam; her son Scott Debnam (Amy); her grandchildren, Heather Phelps Wrenn, Owen Chase Debnam, and Maggie Caroline Debnam; her great-grandchildren, Nadia Wood (Jacob) and Ethan Wrenn (Maddie); and her great-great-grandchildren; Willow Grey Wood, Easton Weldon Wood, Owen Malcolm Wood, and Marigold Kay Wrenn. Also surviving are her siblings, Billy Hudson, Fern Horne, and Larry Hudson (Janice); and her best friend, Martha Miller.
Barbara was a lifelong member of Louisburg Baptist Church. She was a fantastic cook, who was known for her chocolate pies and homemade biscuits. She loved to be busy and was always on the go.
A celebration of Barbara's life will be held at 3:00pm on Saturday, November 29, 2025 at Louisburg Baptist Church with the Reverend David Averette officiating.The family will receive friends following the service.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the nurses and staff of Pruitt Hospice for their care. in lieu of flowers the family would like potted plants or house plants. So they can continue to watch them grow as they continue to keep Barbara's memory alive. Also to honor her love of having many house plants and taking great care with them.
