Walter R. Debnam Jr., 85 of Tobyhanna passed away Monday evening November 3, 2025, at the Sapphire Health and Rehab Center in East Stroudsburg.

Walter was born in New York City, New York on January 22, 1940, a son of the late Walter R. Sr. and Sarah Francis (Brooks) Debnam. He graduated from Commers High School, New York City and served his country in the United States Army. Following his honorable discharge, he returned home to New York where he obtained a bus driver position with New York City Transit where he worked for 46 years until he retired.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Alan Debnam and sisters, Mary Helen Jackson, Dasy Louise Jackson, and Edith Marion Jackson.

He was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed playing the guitar, watching Pittsburg stealers football, and dining out in many of the local restaurant.

Surviving is his wife the former, Sarah Mitchell Debnam, of Tobyhanna, son, Bradley Debnam of Jersey City, New Jersey, stepdaughter, Veronica Watson of Yonkers, New York, brother, Charles Philip Debnam of Freeport Long Island and a host of extended family members.

Graveside services will be held on Friday November 7, 2025, at 1:30P.M. in Calverton National Cemetery, 210 Princeton Blvd, Calverton New York 11933.
